Pathfinder

Pathfinder New Haven is a volunteer program based out of our own school which is geared towards preparing middle-school students for independent high school admission. We ready students in rudimentary math and science courses in both an enrichment and remedial environment so they may competitively apply to a school of their choice.

Our relationship with Pathfinder began in 2015 with team member Josh Ip teaching a Computer Science course. The following year, he teamed up with other team to design a robotics curriculum that taught the students about coding for Arduino. This year, the team modified the curriculum to teach a Physics and Engineering course. Our goal was not only to give our students any lasting knowledge about Arduinos, potentiometers, servos and analogRead();’s , but also to instill in them an interest for robotics and a sense of wonder at the ability to control an electric vehicle with some lines of code and a push of a button.
